The semester is winding down and just when I thought the things were gonna be smooth sailing before the finals...she smacks us across the face with view cameras in film AND digital. Whole another world folks. I'm definitely gonna milk my privileges out of the availability we have at school

Reflective Subject Lighting

> After having my set fall twice and ruining the bike stance, almost tearing the seamless trying to set up my poor man's cove...I didn't realize how much more complex this bike is to evenly light and to ensure you have every contour defined. 

Definitely something I'm gonna have to master if I want to be shooting automotive

If anyone is interested in a free photoshoot with a copy of the files, or if you know of someone looking to do any type of automotive/motorcycle on-location shots, I would appreciate the practice.

Finally get to work with medium format cameras!

Stoked on the actual shooting...but as any other photography student would agree on, it's the processing and developing is what really gets under our skin.

A simple Japanese-themed still life composition. Got the inspiration from an old vintage beer advertisement from Japan.

Long story about what a pain it was to have to reshoot this 3 times because my teachers and lab tech loaded my films wrong...left a bad taste in my mouth

I'm gonna have to shoot this one more time and this time I'm gonna have the director of the photography program load it for me

Glassware Assignments

My last assignment was lighting glassware in various lighting and color situations. 

The first one I shot is dark field which you emphasize the bottle's contour and shape with a white lines on a black background. 

The second on the left is my color of light assignment. It's utilizing different light sources to obtain an interesting color composition.

The third one opposite of my dark field, the bright field also emphasize the bottle's contour and shape with black lines on a white background.

I'm loving this studio access!

Home Sweet Shino

Now that I don't live across the street from what seems to be the BEST yakitori spot in it's little horse town, I don't have the luxury to indulge as much as I used to. Whether they still have their 2-dollar Sapporo pints from 5-8 or not I would definitely make the drive to Corona solely for some juicy buta bara and tomato wrapped with bacon...mmMmm
