Speed Week 2018 | Bonneville Salt Flats | Day One

Since I didn't make it out to the salt this year, I wanted to relive it through last year's photos. After 3 years in a row making it out to Bonneville, I'll be taking a break this year to explore Portland with the family. Last year's Speed Week marked their 70th year anniversary and the salt condition drastically improved from the previous year. No race cars falling off trailers or cars getting stuck in the sloshy return roads this time. Major thanks to the dedicated people of the Save the Salt Foundation, Bonneville can receive replenishments to preserve this sacred land of speed and history.

Return Road

Some of my favorite memories on road trips are the unplanned and spontaneous moments pulling off the shoulder to admire the scenery. Before we knew it, we were way off course. Eventually we found our way back but those little side trips made the journey well worth the hours driven to get to our destinations. I've been living life like a road trip this past year and wanted to compile some of my favorite shots from the adventures this past year. Now that we're back on the return road, let me bring you all back to speed on my journeys from the salt to the shores of Kamakura.
