I've been craving a juicy burger lately, I've been "trying" to balance out my beer:food ratio because it starts to show once you've lost control. The Back Abbey is one of the many bars in downtown Claremont who have a great reputation from all across the Inland Empire and getting some attention in Los Angeles County.
I've been to Downtown Claremont before to try this place out but it was a day that they were closed, bummer. The plaza across the street had Eureka Burger which also carries a variety of craft brews AND they brew their own whiskey. Oh yeah, a nice bourbon on a cube of ice would smooth out the day. Plan on going back to revisit to do a feature on them as well.
It's a Wednesday night, summer's ending, and The Back Abbey is packed. The hard part is you gotta snake your own seats...no help from staff, typical bar protocol. Finally got a seat and had a few brews...I would tell you the names but I have no clue what they were, not because of how many I drank but these beers were named in German I believe.
Next on my list is definitely an Oktoberfest event.
