Mary Aranda-Higa for Hell Bound
Mary Aranda-Higa
Covina hometown gal, bringing back the red and black in style. With fashion background in all eras of the early 1900's, you can't help but admire her presence. How can you miss her vibrantly colored tattoos or those bright red lips?
Having that air of confidence, fashionable habits on a daily basis, and to have the true knowledge staying true to fashion styles of those eras is what a pin-up model should posses.
One of my most memorable and enjoyable shoots, much love goes out to you Mary!

Eat. Drink. Americano
923 E 3rd St

Fall and winter, my two favorite seasons of the year. Time to bundle up, stack on layers of clothes, and fill that flask up with some whiskey to warm you up. I've been playing Christmas songs since September slowly building up my playlist.
E.D.A. (let's keep it simple with the abbreviations) is another gem of many that I had my eye on. Came here for lunch before enduring 4 hours of karaoke with the wifey.
The dinner menu offers more signature dishes such as the chop boards with a variety of cheeses and breads. I'm definitely gonna have to return to try that out.
Modest amount of beers on tap with a good selection varying from a strong IPA to a more lighter Hefe. I had the Ohana Belgian-Style which had a note of sourness to it but smoothed out just like a Belgian shoud.
As you can tell, the interior design was what had me constantly turning my head around to admire the very gritty, vintage aesthetics of the restaurant which tied everything together to give that traditional "AMERICANO" feel. Pulled that off eh?
The chopping board specialty isn't offered for lunch but I tell ya what, I sure wasn't disappointed with the other dishes they were serving for lunch. Definitely on a lighter note than what you expect from a gastropub, but I'm not complaining at all, keeps that gut tucked away.

UMAMi Burger @ Pasadena
49 E Colorado Blvd
Pasadena, CA 91105
Pasadena, CA 91105
They FINALLY opened up the Pasadena location, conveniently located right smack dab in the middle of Downtown Pasadena. It's a bummer having to drive all around LA to get to one of their other restaurants. Each UMAMi restaurant has it's own signature burger, interior design, and selections of craft brew.
Unfortunately they did not have anything on tap. Unlike the other few that actually serve microbrews in tap.
Sachi ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna burger and I got the Stilton & Porter with melted aged bleu cheese paired that with some truffle fries and an Allagash Dubel
Can't wait to try the Le Cordon Bleu burger they were still perfecting.
