Poppin' Bottles
After a long afternoon of climbing fences, running from one corner of the track to another with a 20lb. bag of equipment, it was time to wrap things up. After every race they rolled out the podium stands and the top three winners popped champagne bottles. What I love about the race world is the tight-knit community and the friendly atmosphere, it's not just about the competition but for the love of the sport. Everyone is there to support each other, even the racers' children and families showed up to support the race.
The next time I visit Tsukuba will hopefully be around World Time Attack Challenge but until then I still have a few other race tracks I have to check off my track bucket list in Japan. Until then Tsukuba, CHEERS!
